A Re-Introduction

Updated: May 10, 2021

Passing the time and feeling the need to take photos, I blew away the lockdown dust from my camera and decided to try a few self portraits.

I must admit, it was a little strange being the other side of the lens at first, I have never been one for selfies, fortunately for me however, my photogenic Jack Russell was a welcomed gatecrasher to the party!

With business and life at a stand still, I thought I would take this opportunity to re-introduce myself so you can get to know the person behind the camera a little better.

First of all, what a year! Who saw that coming! It's been crazy times for us all to say the least and many of us have experienced loss one way or another, so I just want to send out virtual hugs to you all! We are not out of the woods yet so please continue to keep you and your family safe.

Even through this pandemic, I hope you've found many happier moments to cherish. Create lasting memories the best you can and capturing every second of it! and to those who are homeschooling... pour yourself more than one glass, you've earned it! (that's what I keep telling myself anyway!)

So hi, I'm Kelly! I am a boxset loving, mother of two very energetic boys who has recently joined the world of fitness in hopes to become 'wedding dress ready' for 2022.... eek! There is never a moment of silence in our house so when I managed to sneak an hour to myself, out came the camera!

I love photography, it feels freeing being able to do something I enjoy so much as my full time job. I have always had a customer focused job, I'm a smiley, and relaxed person with a calm approach to most things (homeschooling not included) so being with people and doing my best to make them happy is where my heart belongs. I was content working pubs and restaurant's, I loved my colleagues in the office of my HR roles but I always knew I was missing something. I stumbled into photography- probably not what most photographers would admit but it's true! I have always taken photos however, of everything, of every event, every get together and I love surprising friends and family with photos from decades ago!

My mum has suitcases full of photographs and albums of the family dating back a few generations which I find fascinating. I feel lucky to have so much history there for me to see and hearing the amazing stories attached to each photograph. I want that for my children and I want that for my clients too. Telling your families story through beautiful images. Things change so quickly and I think it's amazing to be able to freeze time and re live a memory for years to come.

Along with my new found fitness goals, I've had time to pick up the ukulele again, though I'm still not much of a singer! I have tried my hand at painting and making lots of crafty things with the kids... basically I've kept busy but I can not wait for the world to start spinning again so I can get back out there with all my wonderful clients!

I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you too, and I hope we get to create beautiful memories together very soon!

Kelly x
